I was watching ';The View'; this morning and a author Mitchell Fink wrote a book ';The last days of Dead Celebrities'; On the cover is David Blooms name. It struck me kind of odd. The book appears to be DIRT on some people. I can not imagin what kind of DIRT is on David Bloom. David Bloom was the NBC reporter who died in a tank on the third day of the Iraq war. I am wondering if anyone has any information on this. Have you read the book and is it good. Please respond if possible.

Orlando attended St. Edmunds School in Canterbury but struggled in many courses because of dyslexia. He did embrace the arts, however, and enjoyed pottery, photography and sculpturing. He also participated in school plays and was active at his local theater. As a teen, Orlando landed his first job: he was a clay trapper at a pigeon shooting range. Encouraged by his mother, he and his sister began studying poetry and prose, eventually giving readings at Kent Festival. Orlando and Samantha won many poetry and Bible reciting competitions. As fate would have it, seated in the audience one night in 1999 was a director named Peter Jackson. After the show, he met with Orlando and asked him to audition for his new set of movies. After graduating from Guildhall, Orlando began work on the ';Lord of the Rings'; trilogy, spending 18 months in New Zealand bringing to life ';Legolas';, a part which made him a household name. Grafted wisteria plants flower at a younger age than cuttings or seed raised plants, so if it hasn't yet flowered, its type of cultivation may have something to do with it.
Pruning can also help Wisterias flower more profusely, as slowing sap down in a plant does encourage buds to form. Whilst they may ideally be pruned a couple of times a year, I would focus on its mid/late summer pruning, around August is fine, cutting back new shoots by a good third, to around 12'' in length. Generally sidewards growth, slow sap movement, and multiple branches out from a main stem will all encourage flowering.
You can prune in spring too, just beware of damaging, or knocking any buds off from your plant. Shorten any late summer growth whips - you can distinguish flower buds by their fatter appearance.
As your plant is healthy, and as Wisterias can grow masses of leaves, I'd be wary of fertilising with anything other than Sulphate of Potash (Potassium Sulphate), as a mixed fertiliser will contain Nitrogen etc, which will encourage green growth - and I'm guessing that you're getting enough of this. Potassium is the element needed by plants to create flowers. and is provided by this nutrient, which you can pick up at nurseries etc. It may not be required, but shouldn't do any harm.
My other thoughts, as yours is growing in full sun, would be to mulch your plant, to help ensure that it doesn't suffer from drought during excessive hot, dry weather. I'd do this in spring time, or now if not already done (assuming you're in the northern hemisphere). Obviously, you could also water during periods of extended drought.
Otherwise, all plants, like us humans, are individual, and can be fickle. As you've generally got a healthy plant, part of the issue may just be down to how it was propagated, as well as its own fickle nature. But, continue your TLC and you're likely to get results. My mum had a white Wisteria that took over 10 years, but then became a super performer - it wasn't grafted, and this led it be slower off the mark.

In Bloom that song was so sly, I love the subtle humor, I always thought it was funny that it insulted probably half of the people singing the song and they had no clue. It's one of those ideal for a song that's so good you wish you'd thought of it yourself. I swear Kurt was a misunderstood genius.
Hmmm, toughie... I really like both pretty evenly. It really depends on which one I've listened to less in the preceding days. So if I haven't heard Cherub Rock in awhile and I've heard In Bloom more recently more often, I like Cherub Rock better, and vice versa. =)

Why is my wisteria bush not blooming?
I planted a wisteria bush about 3 years ago and it has never bloomed. I asked someone at a landscape place and they said I needed to fertilize it and cut all the new growth off. Well I did that and it still shows no signs of blooming. I really don't even know what time of the year to expect it to bloom. I am in zone sixWhy is my wisteria bush not blooming?
My advice is see what the real authorities have to say about it. Not everyone on Yahoo! Answers has the right answer.

Wisteria does need a minimum of six hours of sunlight a day to bloom, and should not be pruned past mid summer--since they set flower buds in the fall for the following spring bloom. Any pruning is best done as soon as flowering finishes in the spring (or for non-blooming plants, after they have fully leafed out.) Unfortunately, it is too late to do anything about blooms for this season, but you can begin work on next year. One method that can work to begin initiation of flower buds for next year, would be to root prune the plant in July or early August. To root-prune a plant, use a straight edged shovel, and dig straight down in a staggered pattern in a rough circle about a foot away from the plant. This should cut some roots (not all, because it is not a complete ring) and slow down the top growth. Often this encourages the plant to begin setting flower buds. You can give the plant a little super-phosphate and let it get a little on the dry side-again trying to slow down growth. Good luck and hopefully, you will see flowers next spring.

The biggest reason that wisterias don't bloom is because they are getting too much nitrogen. This is often true when the bush is planted in/near a lawn. The lawn gets lots of nice nitrogen fertilizer, and the wisteria gets it too. When it has lots of nitrogen, it is not stressed, and is not in any way motivated to produce blossoms in order to produce seed and reproduce - in short - it's TOO happy. Feed it with a fertilizer that has a high middle number (phosphorus), keep lawn fertilizer away from it, and hopefully it won't be TOO long before you see blossoms.
Wisterias usually bloom early in the spring, once the ground has begun to warm up - I'd guess sometime around early May for zone six, but that's just an estimate, as I've never lived in that zone. I had a huge wisteria in zone 7b (Denton, Texas, 30 miles north of Dallas), and it bloomed madly with absolutely no intervention on my part. Having acidic/volcanic soil helps, too, but I've seen wisterias bloom in Waco (zone 8) as well, and it's terribly alkaline there, so that's not a must.

Wisteria bushes need to be grafted before they will bloom. If when you bought your bush it did not have blooms on it, it may not be grafted. This may cause it to never bloom. Also, Wisterias usually do most of their blooming in the spring.

I hate to tell you this, but you might have got a male Wisteria. And they do not bloom. Usually the bloom in the spring.
wisteria is a very slow vine to bloom...most very prolific ones are at least 7+ years old. just be very very patient with it. Just do what your doing and it will pay off....good luck!!

The biggest reason that wisterias don't bloom is because they are getting too much nitrogen. This is often true when the bush is planted in/near a lawn. The lawn gets lots of nice nitrogen fertilizer, and the wisteria gets it too. When it has lots of nitrogen, it is not stressed, and is not in any way motivated to produce blossoms in order to produce seed and reproduce - in short - it's TOO happy. Feed it with a fertilizer that has a high middle number (phosphorus), keep lawn fertilizer away from it, and hopefully it won't be TOO long before you see blossoms.
Wisterias usually bloom early in the spring, once the ground has begun to warm up - I'd guess sometime around early May for zone six, but that's just an estimate, as I've never lived in that zone. I had a huge wisteria in zone 7b (Denton, Texas, 30 miles north of Dallas), and it bloomed madly with absolutely no intervention on my part. Having acidic/volcanic soil helps, too, but I've seen wisterias bloom in Waco (zone 8) as well, and it's terribly alkaline there, so that's not a must.

Wisteria bushes need to be grafted before they will bloom. If when you bought your bush it did not have blooms on it, it may not be grafted. This may cause it to never bloom. Also, Wisterias usually do most of their blooming in the spring.
Ibelieve your wisteria will bloom this year or next. Just remember wisteria blooms once every two years. T4
I hate to tell you this, but you might have got a male Wisteria. And they do not bloom. Usually the bloom in the spring.
wisteria is a very slow vine to bloom...most very prolific ones are at least 7+ years old. just be very very patient with it. Just do what your doing and it will pay off....good luck!!

They said he had a really bad night and people really dont know what happened. Like the last person says he rarlly gets bad publicity. Peop-le call him mister boreing because he does nothing. I like hime very much because of his charming personallity. Also hes really good to his fans and isnt what you call a bad boy or mouths off to the poperazzi. Never has he turned down anybody.
